This is my 1971 mercury cougar xr7 convertible. I purchased this car at a upholstery shop. I went there to look at a 71 mark V, but I saw the cougar sitting there in bad shape. The shop owner was selling it for a customer who could not afford to get it redone.I was told the motor and trans was overhauled 10 years ago he drove it for about 7000 miles park it and let sit up. The top was damaged and it rain ont he inside for years. I had to replace floor pans and entire inside. The motor and trans turn out to be very strong, I was worried. He put header on car and sound like another cam, the car has lot of power I would say more than other 351 Cleveland I have drove.The car has been restored inside and out.
